Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) broke floor on the kid, adolescent, and grownup behavioral well being companies Middle in San Jose, Calif.
The brand new inpatient facility will exchange the Barbara Ahrens Pavilion and Don Lowe Pavilion on the SCVMC campus and consolidate Santa Clara County’s behavioral well being choices, together with emergency psychiatric companies and pressing care, in a single location.
The three-story, 207,000-square-foot venture includes 77 beds for inpatient behavioral well being care, outpatient pressing care, emergency psychiatric companies with separate, secured ambulance entry bays and remedy areas, and a shared pharmacy.
Further areas will embrace administrative places of work, a pedestrian skyway bridge connecting to the campus’ present emergency division, and a brand new 700-car parking construction.
The brand new behavioral well being middle is slated to open in fall 2025.
The venture group consists of HGA (architect; San Jose), The Cuningham Group (affiliate architect and medical planner; Los Angeles), Webcor (contractor; San Jose), SBay Construction (common contractor; San Jose), Thompson Builders (common contractor; Novato, Calif.), Arup (structural, MEP, and daylighting and lighting design companies; San Francisco), Sandis (civil engineer; Sacramento, Calif.), and Royston, Hanamoto, Alley & Abbey (panorama architect; Mill Valley, Calif.).
